REPORT OF CAMP AT ADOPTED VILLAGE
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research in association with NSS (NSS / SFU / KLM / KUHS / 3), conducted an oral screening and health education camp on 23rd February 2024 at the adopted village (Velichikala) at Badhiriya Teachers Training College,Velichikala, Kundumon. The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology were also associated for the camp as a part of National Oral Pathologist Day on 25th February. Dr Rathy R (Vice principal, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research) inaugurated the camp. Mr Sujeendran, Principal of Badhiriya teachers training college, addressed the gathering and the felicitation was given by PTA president. A health talk regarding “oral cancer – awareness and prevention” was given by Dr Rathy R.
After that oral screening was conducted for the teachers and staffs of the training college. About 37 teachers were screened and out of which 18 were advised to undergo Full Mouth Oral Prophylaxis, 16 for restoration,15 were having malocclusion,7 to undergo extraction and 2 were asked to undergo prosthetic rehabilitation. They were referred to Azeezia Dental College for further treatment.
