Student Guardians is a pilot program to try and improve communication between staff and students.
Many students find it difficult to approach staff with their concerns. They naturally find it easier to speak to their peers or seniors.
Staff nominate students (third year to interns) who have shown good academic performance and/or a sense of maturity. These students are awarded the role of Student Guardians.
Students can approach any Student Guardian and talk with them about their concerns.
The Student Guardian will then convey these concerns to the staff.
Staff can also call on Student Guardians to check on students if conventional means have not yielded any results.
