Field Visit to Mind Revival Psychosocial Rehabilitation centre
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Science’s and Research organized a field visit to Mind Revival Psychosocial Rehabilitation centre, on 29/5/2024 situated at kallambalam, Trivandrum. ‘Mind Revival’ is a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre facilitates opportunities for persons with mental illness to reach their optimal level of independent functioning in society and enhancing their quality of life. They facilitate psycho education, social skill training, psychological counseling, pharmacological support, behavioral and medication approaches. The team is specialized on recovering from alcohol addiction, cannabias addiction, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dementia care, intellectual disability and adolescence problem.
A group of 7 interns headed by Dr.Saira Siraj reached the venue at 10.30 am. We were warmly welcomed by Mr.Rufose John counselor and director of the Mind Revival Psychosocial Rehabilitation centre,and the Psychologist of the Mind Revival Rehabilitation Centre, Mr.Ebenezer . She gave a brief explanation about the centre, and his manner of conduct. He emphasized about screen and drug addiction and various other forms of addiction. Drug addiction can start with experimental use of recreational drug in social situation and for some people the drug use become more frequent. He also briefed about different types of patients, and their nature he had dealt with in his career.
The counsellor of the Mind Revival Rehabilitation centre Mr. Sangeeth discussed about addiction recovery it’s stages and the wide varieties of the treatment options. Visiting Mind Revival Psychosocial Rehabilitation centre was profound enlightening experience that offered us insights into the comprehensive care and support provided to individuals with mental health conditions. It show cases the blend of therapeutic interventions, skill development and community support that empowers individuals to improve their quality of life.
