REPORT OF ANTI RAGGING AWARENESS WEEK
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research & NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) organized Ant ragging week awareness programme from August 12th to 18th 2024 at Azeezia dental college. The aim of the programme was to make the new generation to aware about the consequences of Ragging and not to be a reason for someone’s bad time. Ragging is a disturbing reality in the higher education system of our country. Despite the fact that over the years ragging has claimed hundreds of innocent lives and ruined careers of thousands of bright students, the practice is still perceived by many as a way of familiarization and an initiation into the real world for young college going students.
Various activities like displaying of posters at the reception area of the college, which gave more information about ragging and the after consequences those badly affects the students. The poster making was held with the aim to create awareness. The posters with the rules and regulations give the information about the helpline contact numbers to seek help from the Ant ragging desk. There were also posters with cartoons which depict how ragging affect someone’s life badly and also giving awareness to stop ragging and raise voice against ragging.
The Department of Public Health Dentistry also conducted Instagram reel making competition. The students from third year, final year and Interns participated in the reel making competition and uploaded the reel videos on the site of Anti ragging National contest 2024. Under these programmes conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry , those aimed to make the campus free from ragging and made more awareness to the students regarding acts and punishments pertaining to ragging activities.
