Safeguarding Smiles: How Immunization Can Prevent HIV Transmission in Dentistry”
– Anti HIV awareness Class Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology of Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research has organised an Anti HIV awareness Class on 3 rd December 2024 ,for UGs, PGs and Staff in accordance with World AIDS Day 2024. Dr K. Santhosh Kumar, Retro Physician, ART Medical Officer of Kollam District Hospital, was the resource person.The awareness class started with the history, incidence and vulnerability of dentists getting iotrogenically infected with HIV virus.The resource person highlighted the importance of prophylactic measures to be taken while performing procedures for HIV positive patients. Discussions on prevention and progression of HIV virus was done. The speaker urged the participants to get themselves protected against infection by following the guidelines prescribed by CST of Nationa lAIDS Control Programme .
