REPORT ON DENTAL CAMP CONDUCTED AT
SNEHA NAGAR RESIDENCE ASSOCIATION, ERAVIPURAM
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research, and NSS unit(NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) conducted a Dental Awareness and Screening Camp on 12th September 2026 at the Sneha Nagar Residence Association, Eravipuram. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Naveen Jacob Varghese. The inauguration marked the beginning of the dental awareness and screening activities organized for the residents of the association. As part of the programme, a dental awareness class on the topic of “Oral diseases its prevention and management” was conducted by Dr. Sithara S, House Surgeon, Azeezia Dental College. The session focused on creating awareness regarding the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and oral cancer detection and prevention as well as prevention of common dental diseases, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
A total of 63 patients attended the camp. The dental screening was carried out for all the participants, and their oral health conditions were assessed. Appropriate diagnoses were made and treatment planning was carried out based on the individual dental needs of the patients. The participants were also advised regarding the necessary treatment and further dental care. Out of 63 patients, 1 patient was referred to the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 5 patients to the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, 6 patients to the Department of Prosthodontics, 32 patients to the Department of Periodontics, 23 patients to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and 11 patients to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The camp provided an opportunity to assess the oral health status of the local community and to promote awareness regarding preventive dental care. The programme was successfully conducted with active participation from the residents and the dental team.
