REPORT OF INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY,2022
The international yoga day is celebrated on 21st June since 2015 to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. The date was assigned for the occasion as it is the longest day when the sun is out at it most compared to every other day of the year. Yoga rejuvenates our body and mind. This year we had celebrated the sixth international yoga day by The Department of Public Health Dentistry and National Service Scheme in Azeezia Dental College. Theme for the day was “Yoga for Humanity”.
The programme was started at 1:30pm. The welcome speech was given by Dr.Naveen, Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry. Mr.M.Thahirudeen, Yoga trainer of Azeezia Dental College was the resource person for the day. The topic for the day was Fundamentals of yoga practice. He had taken a very informative class regarding the importance of yoga and the relevance of yoga in our day to day life. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite. We got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The staff, interns and final year Part A students had participated in the programme.
The vote of thanks was given by Ann Mariam Alex, intern on behalf of the Principal, management and department. A certificate was also awarded to Mr.M.Thahirudeen. The programme was concluded at 3pm.
