REPORT OF INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS 2024
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Science & Research, NSS unit (NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) organized Independence Day celebrations in association with Azeezia Medical College.
As the India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day the government of India has announced the theme for this year which is “VIKSIT BHARATH”/DEVELOPED INDIA. It symbolizes the vision on a developed nation. Independence Day commemorates India’s freedom from British colonial rule. On August 15, Jawaharlal Nehru hosted the Indian National flag above the Lahore gate on Red Fort, Delhi.
On August 15, 2024 Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research organized meaningful and engaging events that began with an Independence Day Rally followed by flag hosting speech on patriotism and Drug Free India, Patriotic song, Quiz and ended with the national anthem.
The Celebration commenced with speech delivered by Mr. Jawahar Janardhanan (CEO, Azeezia institute of Medical Science & Research). The National flag was hosted by the chief guest Dr.RadhakrishnanNair.K(Principal, Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research) followed by Independence day message and an oath on “NASHAMUKTH BHARAT ABHAYAN” (Drug freeIndia) for a healthy future of India. The event continued with messages conveyed by Dr. Roopesh (Department of Community Medicine, Azeezia Medical College) & Dr. Prakshob (Department of Microbiology, Azeezia Medical College) which emphasized the importance of Independence Day. After that several cultural programs which included speech on “INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE” delivered by Miss Nandini Nandhakumar third year BDS student, Mr.Ashraf first year BDS student and Mr. Ashique first year MBBS student, Patriotic song was also sung by students of Dental, Nursing and Non-teaching staff. Along with this there was an Interactive Ǫuiz session conducted by CEO Sir Mr. Jawahar Janardhanan. The program was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Naveen Jacob Varghese (Senior Lecturer and Programme Officer,NSS ,Department of Public Health Dentistry).
