Department of oral Medicine and radiology organized career guidance program commemorating national Dentists day on 6 th march, 2019.
Dr Vinod Krishnan , Professor and HOD, Department of Orthodontics , Sree Sankara Dental College Varkala and Dr Madhav Manoj, Professor, Department of Orthodontics, PMS College of Dental sciences and Research, Vattapara
delivered the talk on career opportunities after BDS. Senior Faculty , Professor and HOD, Department of Pedodontics and preventive dentistry, ACDSR was also honoured. Our interns and Final year students attended the program.
There are a wide array of Career opportunities after BDS. Students need to be aware of the path which they need to choose and for that a thorough insight into this wide area is necessary. Students found the talk very helpful.
PATH FINDER 2020
CAREER OPTIONS AFTER BDS
Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research conducted an online webinar on career guidance for dental students Dental opportunities in Australia,USAand UK on 1-7-2021 from 11 am-1pm.
The resource persons were Dr.Sangeetha Raj [Alumni –Azeezia Dental College] and Dr.Asha Muhammed. The program was enthusiastically participated by students. The program was inagurated by principal Dr.Radhakrihnan Nair and Dean Dr.Nandakumar addressed the participants. Career Options are to be discussed so that each student shall have an idea regarding which path to be chosen after their graduation. Students may be interested in research or further higher studies for which such programmes are inevitable.
PATHFINDER 2021
Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a webinar on PATHFINDER-Career Guidance Programme for Interns on 30 th October 2021 at 1pm . The speaker was Dr Benley George MDS , PhD guide ,Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry,Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences. The moderator of the webinar was Dr Arathi Vijayan. Dr Radhakrishnan, Principal of Azeezia Dental College , inaugurated the programme and welcomed the speaker and gave a brief introduction on the subject. The speaker discussed about the opportunities for BDS graduates in India and abroad.Other topics such as research opportunities, fellowship programs,how to set up a dental practice etc.. has been discussed by the speaker. A total of 63 participants attended the webinar. The speaker also shared his valuable knowledge about the topic, gave details about various programs and courses along with its
course duration, fee and other academic details. The speaker also discussed in detail about how to go abroad, exams to be attended and the cost of examination etc.. Dr Rathi Vice Principal , Azeezia Dental College thanked the speaker and concluded the webinar with her speech .
The webinar provided great insight about the topic and was very helpful to fresh graduates who are anxious about their unsure future.
KERALA DENTAL PSC- A ROAD MAP [ 16-12-2021]
Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research conducted an offline Class on free career guidance program on career options after BDS for dental students FROM 1:30-3:30 pm. DrSanthosh Prashanth, Assosciate professor, GDC TVM, Department of pedodontics and Dr.Manikandan G R , Dental Surgeon at Govt Urban Multispeciality Dental clinic , Mannanthala were the speakers of the day. The program was inagurated by principal Dr.Radhakrihnan Nair and Dean Dr.Nandakumar addressed the participants.
PSC is a crucial point in students who are aiming at government institution placements. Kerala PSC exams require multidisciplinary approach from all spheres including general knowledge and history. It requires special guidance by the experts in this area and was fulfilled by selecting the pioneers in cracking PSC exams.
A CAREER GUIDANCE FOR INTERNS AND
POSTGRADUATES ON “OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND DENTISTRY”
On March 6 th 2022, in occasion with the National Dentist Day, the Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a webinar on carrier guidance for interns and postgraduates on the topic “Opportunities beyond dentistry”. The programme started at 4 pm. Dr. Aarathi Vijayan, Reader and HOD of the
Department of Public Health Dentistry gave the welcome address. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. R Rathy, Vice Principal, Azeezia Dental College. The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Tessy Lukose, Research manager, Global pharmacovigilance, Sun pharmaceutical Industries ltd She
enlightened the students with opportunities beyond dentistry, specifically about clinical research and pharmacovigilance. Her talk was very motivating and enlightened the interns as well as postgraduates. The duration of the webinar was 1 hour. In the end Dr. Naveen Jacob Varghese, Senior Lecturer, Department of public health dentistry gave the vote of thanks. The programme ended at 5pm.
PATHFINDER 2022
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research, Kollam organised a webinar on ‘PATHFINDER’- a career guidance programme for the interns on 5 th November 2022. The key speaker of the webinar was Dr. Benley George, MDS, PhD guide who is presently the Vice principal(administration) and Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry at Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences.
The webinar started at 1.00pm. Dr. Saira Siraj. E, Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry has introduced and welcomed the speaker Dr. Benley George and gave a brief introduction on the topic. The speaker addressed the participants about various career opportunities and opportunities of higher education in India and abroad. Other topics such as overseas licensure examination, research pportunities, fellowship programs, setting up a dentalclinic etc. has been discussed by the speaker.
The speaker also highlighted about various programs and courses along with its course duration, fee and other academic details. The session concluded at 3.00pm with the vote of thanks by Dr.Saira Siraj. E. The webinar provided great insight about the topic and would be beneficial for the fresh graduates to choose their right path.
