REPORT ON REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Republic day is the day when India marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 th January 1950. This replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India thus turning the nation into a republic separate from British Raj. The 74 th republic day was celebrated based on the theme ‘Jan Bhagidari’. As a part of republic day celebration, Department of Public Health Dentistry and NSS unit(NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) actively participated in the programs conducted. The celebration began at 8:30 am with a rally starting from Azeezia Medical College Hospital premises to the Academy Block, where the rest of the programs were held. The Dental students, medical students, nursing students, teaching andvnon-teaching staffs participated in the celebration. The chief guest of the day was Dr.K Radhakrishnan Nair, Principal of Azeezia Dental College. The flag was
hosted by the chief guest and the republic day message was delivered. Patriotic song was sung by NSS volunteers of dental college and students of nursing and medical college. The Republic Day speech was given by Maya Manoharan, third year BDS and Arya. S, first year BSc nursing student.
The program was concluded at 9:15am with vote of thanks given by Dr. NaveenbvJacob Varghese, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Public Health Dentistry.
