REPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS PROGRAM
The JCI (Junior Chamber International) in association with Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research and NSS unit( NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) as a part of their Environmental Awareness Program on September 10 2024 planted saplings at Herbal Garden. JCI is a World Wide Federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs having a membership of 2 lakh active members and millions of JCI alumni participating in project, meetings, learning programs and events. JCI thrives in more than 6 lakhs communities located in about 115 countries throughout the world. They bought over 20 saplings of same variant and there initiative is to plant the saplings in various schools and colleges over Kollam and raise awareness and promote the therapeutic value of the conservation of plants that grow largely wild in our environment and whose properties help maintain a healthy balance between humans and nature. The JCI, Quilon President explained the aim and objective of doing this project for the NSS volunteers. Dr Aarathi Vijayan, HOD, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research explained how the Department started the Herbal garden and its aim and progress. The programme started at 10 am and concluded at 11 30am. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Intern,Dr Sooraj, Azeezia Dental College.
