REPORT OF INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2025
The 79th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Azeezia Medical College Academy on 15th August 2025. Independence day is celebrated to honor the moment when a nation gain freedom from foreign rule and it remains the history alive ensuring we don’t forget our rules and civic responsibility.
To commemorate Independence Day, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia College of Dental Science and Research and NSS unit (NSS / SFU / KLM / KUHS /3) in association with Azeezia Medical & Nursing College organized various activities such as speech, patriotic song and skit.
The program started with Flag hoisting by the chief guest, Director of Azeezia Medical College Dr. Hashim Azeez in the presence of CEO Mr. Jawahar Janardanan, faculties, other staff members and students which was followed by singing National Anthem with full zeal and respect. After the flag hoisting, the director addressed the gathering highlighting the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and emphasizing the importance of responsibility, unity and dedication in today’s youth. It motivated students to contribute actively towards the vision of a developed India. This was followed by Independence Day speech which was delivered by Dr. Prashobh Krishnan, Head of the Department (Microbiology) of Azeezia Medical College. He explained about the sacrifices that give as Independence true patriotism that lives not only in remembering our martyrs but also in living by the values of discipline, respect and unity .Another speech was delivered by Dr. Nujoom, Department of Forensic Medicine, Azeezia Medical College. He explained about how each citizen has a role to play and we should take responsibility of our nation to remain truly independent. The cultural program started by 9:00 am and Rashni P of third year BDS delivered a speech by giving a message to all highlighting sacrifice of freedom fighters and importance in breaking free from the slavery of illness and how medical students not just to study medicine but to serve the community with awareness in this free India. Another speech was also delivered by non teaching staff highliting the importance of the independence as well as patriotism.
After that,a patriotic song was sung by students. Followed by this, a provoking skit on Operation Sindhoor and the effect of Pahalgam was played by students of Azeezia Dental College. The skit portrayed the struggles faced during a sudden terrorist attack and the brave rescue operation carried out by Indian army. The performance highlighted the values of patriotism, unity and sacrifice and the skit was well appreciated by the audience. The program was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr.Naveen Jacob Varghese,Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Azeezia Dental College.
The celebration not only reminded everyone of thes acrifices that won India her freedom but also inspired students to contribute positively towards the Nation’s Growth and Unity.
