REPORT OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2025
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8th March, commemorating women’s fight for equality and liberation along with the women’s rights movement. The theme for 2025 was “Accelerate Action”, emphasising the urgency of advancing gender equality.
On behalf of International Women’s Day, Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research in association with NSS unit(NSS/SFU/KLM/KUHS/3) and BVET Life Skills Counselling Centre, Chathannoor, Kollam organised an exhibition and sale of handicrafts made by specially abled students of BVET on 7thMarch at NAAC hall, As a part of this , an oral screening camp was also organized at St. Thomas Marthoma Church , Pooyappally, on 8th March.
The exhibition was named as “Sparsh 2025”. It was inaugurated by Principal, Dr.Radhakrishnan Nair and Vice Principal, Dr.R.Rathy. The exhibition consists of various artistic works like paintings, craft works and jewelleries. Soft toys, candles, soaps, and wooden crafts made by their students were also kept for sale. They also had an artist (student of Bvet) who drew live portraits in front of the exhibition. All the faculties including teaching and non teaching staff and students came to visit the exhibition and bought their products. The program concluded at 2 pm.
On 8th March an awareness session and a screening camp(Medical camp) including almost all the departments in medical college actively participated in the camp which was conducted at St. Thomas Marthoma Church, Pooyappally. A total number of 80 participants were there. About 5 patients were screened in the dental section and they were referred to Azeezia Dental College for further treatment. As the part of International Women’s Day, a flash mob was also conducted by Azeezia Nursing College after the camp. The camp concluded at 2 pm.
