REPORT ON SEMINAR CONDUCTED ON INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023
Every year International yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 worldwide. It serves as a platform to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga and promote the holistic approach to physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
The yoga program was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry and NSS unit(NSS /SFU /KLM /KUHS/3) of Azeezia College of Dental science and Research. The speaker for the program was Mr. Abhilash Soman (Diploma in Yoga, Yoga alliance approved teacher, MBA in Human resource). The theme for our program was “YOGA IS NOT ONLY AN EXERCISE, IT’S BEYOND THAT”.
The program was organized in Lecture hall 1 of Azeezia College of Dental science and Research. The seminar started by 9 am and concluded by 10 am. The program was inaugurated by Dr Radhakrishnan Nair,Principal,Azeezia College of Dental Sciences and Research by giving a brief introduction about international yoga day. The seminar began by introducing himself and motivated us with his life journey. He was able to build up a passion in us about yoga, while we came to know about the significance of yoga in daily life. He taught us that Yoga is not only about flexibility and meditation, but it’s beyond that. We were able to clearly understand the concept of “chakras” and made us do breathing exercise that are practiced to calm our mind and body during stress conditions. Balanced chakras influence overall health and mental stability and it’s helps us to fight several diseases especially; PCOS, Imbalanced BP and many more. He shared his experience about how he gain strength during his athletic journey. He also help lot of his trainees to recover from their respective health issues. He concluded the program by motivating us to lead a healthy and peaceful life by doing what we love to do. He made maximum use of the time alloted to him.
The vote of thanks was given by Dr Rathy, Vice principal of Azeezia College of Dental science and Research and as a token of appreciation a momento was given to the speaker by Dr Rathy (Vice Principal).
